4. A Few Freezer Meals
We call these “emergency meals” in our house, and we use them when only my spouse or I are at home with our daughter. I don’t like making a huge meal when it’s just 2 of us, so we whip out a 1-dish frozen meal and can avoid going out to eat. Our favorite store bought meals are from Trader Joe’s, but you can also plan ahead and make your own freezer meals!

5. Ground Beef
Whether it’s hamburger patties or just packages of ground beef, having some on hand will always save your dinner. You can throw some on the BBQ, make tacos, or toss in a casserole. Frozen ground beef thaws quickly and it has so many uses, you won’t have to worry about it getting freezer burned before you use it!

6. Shrimp
If you’re a shrimp lover, then this is for you. If you don’t eat shrimp, then you can just skip ahead to #7! Most of the time you purchase “fresh” shrimp, it’s actually already been frozen, but you wouldn’t know from the price! If you purchase frozen, you’ll save a few bucks and still have a low-calorie protein on hand. It thaws super quickly and most of the time it’s already been de-veined and de-tailed!
