As hard as we try to keep our kids free from illnesses, it’s virtually impossible to remain germ-free. No matter how often you apply that antibacterial hand gel, the mother of the kid in front of yours on the playground may not have and BAM- germ city. We all know there are obvious places our kids pick up bacteria that can result in the sniffles or even the flu, like daycare and school. But germs are sneaky and they like to hang out in places you couldn’t imagine. We’ve gathered a list of some surprising places your kids could be contracting bacteria. We hope you find this helpful in your war on germs!
1. Swimming Pools & Spas
Spring is here and Summer is not far behind, and that means lots of time at your local swimming pool. You may be under the assumption that the chlorine in the pool kills all bacteria. While it does keep much of the germs at bay, fecal matter and bacteria can easily survive and be transmitted in water. Hot tubs are an even more ideal environment due to the warm temperature. If your kids are feeling even slightly sick, keep them out of the pool to avoid more exposure to germs.
