8 No Heat Hairstyles To Fake A Good Hair Day

Most women agree that they feel more put together and confident when they are having a good hair day or put the effort into doing their hair, but as busy moms we usually put ourselves last. No makeup, yesterday’s sweatpants and a bun are often our uniform. But they don’t have to be! Whether you are in a rush in the morning, trying to avoid heat tools because it’s super hot out, or really just hate doing your hair, having a repertoire of no heat hairstyles is always a good idea. We’ve rounded up a great list of simple hairstyles that take the work out of your morning hair routine. Some of them can even be achieved overnight while you sleep!

1. No Heat Curls

Who loves a good curly hair day now and then? Most of us enjoy the extra body some curls bring to a hairstyle but not many have the time to section out tons of hair to use with a curling iron. Enter, this no heat overnight curl style! Take a headband (you can get a special Savvy Curls model or just use a stretchy one you already have) and wear it hippie-style. Start from the front of your head and start twisting 1-inch sections up and around the headband. Rather then me trying to explain every step, head over to TheBestOfBabyLady.com and see a video tutorial!

2. Two Minute Low Braided Bun

You had me at “two minute” and “bun.” I love this look because it’s technically a throw back to my topsy turvy days. Make a low pony, and then pull through a hole made right above the hair elastic. Then braid your pony tail and roll it up for a new twist on your pony tail!

Grab all the details on this style and other amazing tips on saving money over at She.Steals.com.

3. Braid Half Updo

Most of the time a half updo can solve a lot of my hair problems. It’s always the top layer of my hair that gets frizzy and or greasy (curly hair problems right here!), so being able to pull it back gives me a fresh feel and another day out of my unwashed hair. This style doesn’t require any fancy braids, just a regular braid on each side of your face. Wrap them around to the back and secure with bobby pins and you’re ready to go!

4. No Heat Beach Waves

We can’t all live by the beach, but most of us would love to have sexy, wavy beach hair if we could. Now anyone can get them with this easy tutorial. Twist slightly damp hair tightly and then pin over the top of your head. Let dry overnight (or wear as a style during the day, if you’re brave) and then unpin to find hair that’s been touched by the surf and sand.

5. Half Braided PonyTail

The mom bun’s best friend is always going to be the pony tail, but regular pony’s can be kinda boring. Additionally, they can tend to show a lot of grease if you haven’t washed your hair lately! That’s why I love this half braided look because the braid can cover a multitude of sins, and the messy pony is just icing on the cake.

Head over to SmallThingsBlog.com to watch a video tutorial and see just how easy this style can be!

6. Simple Twist Hairdo

If the Braid Half Updo isn’t your thing, you can probably manage this even easier twist version. All you need to do is twist the two front sections of your hair and then bring together in the back with a simple elastic. This is great for short or medium-length hair.

This style is found over at SayYes.com, a great resource for beauty, style and crafts.

7. Headband Updo

If you were digging the look that it had while achieving the No Heat Curls style above, then this is your next ‘do! Take a cute headband and then wrap the rest of your hair up and around the headband to create a sleep and elegant updo, or pull out some loose pieces of hair for a messy, yet pulled together look. This is a great style for the summer because it keeps all the hair off your neck, without sacrificing style.

8. Cinna-Buns

Because I love channeling my inner Rey (that’s a new Star Wars reference, in case you didn’t know!), I particularly love this “Cinna-buns” hairstyle. It works with both wet and dry hair, and it really maximizes everyone’s love of BUNS! All you need to do is create three buns down the back of your head and you are on your way to a stylish and effective way to stay cool (and look cool too.)
