But as we all know, words can sometimes be the most motivational and inspiring tool that a child needs to lift their spirits and keep them strong. With this in mind, one mother developed some adorable note critters that serve as ‘plushies with a purpose’ for kids. Borrowing from her words on her Kickstarter campaign page, “Note Critters provide an opportunity to connect parents with their children and it doesn’t take much effort. First recognize something positive in your child that you want to encourage. Maybe it’s picking up their toys or using good manners. Then choose a Note that corresponds to that behavior or write your own. The fact that you took a moment to write down a behavior you want to encourage will give your child the opportunity to reread that positive reinforcement. Children love repetition and respond favorably.”

There are a variety of plushies to choose from, and if her campaign doesn’t reach its goal then all the pledges will be promptly refunded. But hopefully that doesn’t happen because these are such a great idea for us to not only teach but to praise our children in the uplifting way they need!
