4. Declutter Countertops
When a room has clutter it makes it seem so much smaller. The key for a small bathroom is to have very little clutter out on the countertop. That means you only want to have the essentials out, like soap and lotion. Store any kind of make up or personal grooming tools out of sight either in the vanity or the medicine cabinet. If you feel that your countertop needs a little something more than just soap and lotion, put a small decorative piece out like a small vase of fresh flowers. It’ll bring in a nice soft and colorful touch without being too overcrowding.

5. Add Spa-Like Features
Just because you have a small bathroom doesn’t mean that it can’t have luxurious items. In fact, luxurious items will make the room look more spa-like and distract the eye from how small the room really is by focusing on the nicer things. Use oversized shower heads or state of the art faucets to create this spa-like retreat in your small space. The great thing about a small bathroom is that since there is very little space to do anything with it will free up extra money for those more expensive items.

6. Open Shelving
Since you want your small bathroom to look more open, opt for open shelving for the essentials that display nicely such as towels, toilet paper, bath salts, cotton balls, and more. These items can all be displayed in a beautiful manner and will look nice on an open shelf. For other items that are not so appealing to the ye like medicine, make up tools and more, put those in the closed shelving.
