7. Can You Talk On Your Phone During Your Appointment?

Being on the phone here and there if you absolutely have to is okay, but talking on your phone during the whole appointment is certainly rude to your stylist. It’s also hard for your stylist to work around your hands and cell phone while they are trying to put color in your hair or cut it with scissors.  Remember, this person is performing a service for you, so be kind to them and don’t ignore them by talking on your phone the whole time.

8. Is It Okay To Tell Them In Detail How You Want Your Hair?

Of course it’s okay to tell your stylist how you want your hair to be done. In fact, they need to know what you want and in as much detail as possible so that they can make you happy with the result. However, what is not okay is when you tell your stylist HOW to do their job. There’s no need to tell them how they should be cutting your hair, just tell them what you want it to look like and let them do their job.

9. Can You Be Silent During Your Appointment?

You don’t necessarily have to talk to your stylist like you two are the best of friends, but you should at least talk to your stylist if they talk to you. There’s no need to be rude and not talk to them at all. If you really don’t feel like talking, simply tell your stylist how tired you are and that you need to relax and take a load off. Hopefully they’ll get the hint that you need time to sit back and enjoy some peace and quiet.

10. Can I Bring My Kids To My Hair Appointment?

Unless your child is old enough to sit still and not interrupt other people, then you should absolutely not take your child to your hair appointment. Not only is it rude to your stylist and the rest of the people in the salon, but it’s also dangerous for your child. If they are going to be running around they can slip on the hair on the floor, a stylist could drop a pair of scissors that could cut them, or they could knock over some hair chemicals that could harm them. Leave your child at home, and if you absolutely can’t do that, reschedule your appointment for a different day when you can.
