5. Bumbo (or other infant “chair”)
I thought I had to have a cute colored Bumbo so my daughter could sit like a big girl, so immediately put a purple one on my registry. I tried putting her in it at a young age, but she still couldn’t hold her head up so it was a waste of time. By the time she could, she wanted to sit on her own, or was crawling. Bumbos aren’t meant for table or countertops, so your child will still be on the floor. There has also been some research on how fitted seats can impact hip development. Get creative with propping some pillows around them while they learn to sit and call it a day.

6. Diaper Stacker
Someone thought they were being cute by designing the diaper stacker, a hanging “basket” that you put all your diapers in (that Huggies box is just so unsightly!). So when you have some free time, you can transfer all your diapers in it, hang it somewhere that’s close to your changing table (hope you have a hook nearby!) and then rustle around inside looking for a diaper. And as if you only change diapers in 1 place in the house? All you need is a few cute baskets to place a handful of diapers in throughout the house, and you’ve got your diaper situation handled.

7. Shopping Cart Cover
Yeah, yeah, I’ll probably get a lot of flack for putting this on the “do not buy list” but I can say that I used my cart cover 1 (ONE) time. It’s true that shopping carts are dirty, disgustingly dirty in fact. But did you know that almost every shopping cart is a different size? That being said, unless you are willing to a) buy multiple shopping cart covers or b) get a very expensive one, your cart cover will only do its job half the time. Also, have you ever tried to hold a baby, diaper bag AND put a shopping cart cover on? It’s near impossible and not worth the pain and suffering. Simply disinfect the cart with a handy wipe, toss a blanket over the seat and your babe will be fine.
