8. Tons of Bottles
You have no idea what your baby is going to prefer when they enter the world, so don’t waste your time registering for 50 Tommee Tippee bottles because you may pop one in their mouth, only to hate it. Then you’re stuck with 50 bottles you can’t use. It’s a smart idea to register for several different kinds of bottles and don’t open them! Try one at a time until you find one your baby likes, then you can go back and buy more.

9. Fancy, Padded Crib Bumpers
Most of us are all on the same page with preventing SIDS, and how you should not have anything loose in the crib. Additionally, it has been recommended that no padded crib bumpers ever enter your babies crib, because of accidental suffocation (you should only use mesh, or nothing at all). But moms everywhere can’t resist spending a boatload on baby bedding that costs an arm and a leg. Newsflash, your baby won’t even BE in the crib for a few months. And when they get in there, they are going to poop and barf all over it. All you need is a few mattress covers and a few fitted sheets- that’s it!

10. Baby Bath Tub
This seems to be a main staple on registries, along with cute hooded towels. If you have a small home with only 1 bathroom, you will have to share your space with a giant baby tub. You don’t have to! Use your kitchen or bathroom sink, they won’t take up any more space. I also recommend using a baby bath sponge, that’s roughly the size of your baby. All you do is fill your regular tub with a few inches of water and lay your baby and sponge on the bottom of the tub. They are super inexpensive and just need to be squeezed out after bath time. You can find one on Amazon for under $10 right here!
