7. Put Away Your Clothes Every Night
Every night when you change out of your daily clothes and put on your pajamas, immediately hang up your clean clothes and put your dirty clothes in your hamper. I know this seems simple and like a no brainer, but sometimes we can get lazy and just throw our clothes on the floor. Putting your clothes in the proper place won’t take more than a few seconds and it will keep your room looking nicer. It’ll feel so great to wake up to a tidy bedroom in the morning.
8. Clean As You Cook
One of the things I hate about cooking is the huge mess it creates. It’s always overwhelming when you’re finally done cooking and enjoying your meal to turn around and have a giant mess to clean up. In order to avoid this, clean up as you cook. As soon as you’re done using a measuring cup or spoon, rinse it off and put it in the dishwasher, once you’re done with an ingredient, put it away, etc. Doing all of these things will certainly keep your kitchen nicer and won’t leave you with a huge mess to clean up.
9. Have A Junk Drawer Or Shelf
Let’s be honest, there is bound to be a junk drawer in every single person’s home. There’s always a few things that you end up looking at every now and then and think to yourself “Where the heck am I supposed to put this?” When that happens, it goes right into the junk drawer. It’s okay to have a junk drawer. It keeps all the clutter and junk in one place where no one else will see it. Just be sure to go through the junk drawer every few months so it doesn’t get out of control.

10. Assign Children Smaller Chores
To make your life easier, especially when it comes to cleaning, give your children some chores and things to clean so you don’t have to do it all yourself and so it will teach them responsibility. Even very small children can help with simple chores. You can have kids do the dishes, take out the trash, push the chairs in after dinner, pick up their toys before bedtime, clear the table, set the table, and so much more. I know that it might seem really lazy to have our children do this, but it’s actually just the opposite. It’s teaching your children a valuable lesson of how to work hard and how to keep the house clean. They may complain now, but they will thank you down the road in a few years.
