4. Designate Specific Places For Things
If you have certain places for all the things in your home, and everyone knows where those places are, chances are your home will stay not only cleaner, but more organized. Designate a few shelves with baskets for toys, keep all your mail in one drawer in your desk, put all the shoes in a basket by the front door, etc. You can even put cute labels on each of these places so your family will always know where all these things go.
5. Do A Quick Pick Up Every Evening Or Morning
Let’s be honest, your home is not ALWAYS going to look perfect. Messes are made, things get put in the wrong places, and so much more. A great way to keep on top of all those messes, is to set a designated time every day to do a quick pick up either every morning or every night. I usually do this as soon as I put my son down for bed. Even though I’m tired after a long day, it really only takes about 10 minutes to pick up the main living area. There are two perks to this: it’ll be nicer to relax in a clean room and it’ll keep your home from getting messier every single day. Every morning is a fresh new start.
6. Go Paperless
We all have the stacks and stacks of paper that build up on our desks and counter top from mail, magazines, and bills. In order to help reduce that, or hopefully get rid of all that together, go paperless! Set up paperless billing, buy online subscriptions to magazines, and go through mail as soon as you receive it. Throw away the junk mail right away, read thank you cards and invitations immediately and if you absolutely still need them, put them in their proper place etc. This will keep your desk and home looking less cluttered with all that extra paper everywhere.
