9. Corral your pets
If you have pets, you’re probably an animal lover. But many people aren’t. Have a conversation with your guests before they arrive and decipher if they have a love/hate relationship with animals, if they have allergies, or children that may be fearful of pets. At night, be sure to put your animals “away” so they don’t try to sneak into your guest’s room or serve as their wakeup call.
