4. They Aren’t Dying, but LIVING
Truly amazing grandparents don’t sit at home waiting for the bell to toll. They live life to the fullest and take adventures. They play with their grandkids in the water at the beach, go on a road trip across the country with their significant other, or buy a brand new snazzy car just because they can. Just because they’re getting older doesn’t mean that they can’t have fun.
5. Their Stories Are Better Than Movies
You know you have one of the coolest grandparents ever when they have cooler stories to tell than a movie plot. I love sitting down and listening to the amazing stories my grandparents tell about the days they lived on a farm and were chased by a bull or when they lived through one of the devastating wars. It’s amazing to hear their life stories and you hope that someday you can have as an amazing life as they have.
6. They Always Have Candy
One of the best things about being around your grandparent is that they always have a little stash of candy around for their family, especially their grandkids when they come around. You always know where to find it whether it’s in their pocket, their purse, or in their house. They know that just a little bit of sugar isn’t going to kill you and that everyone enjoys satisfying a little sweet tooth here and there.
