7. Clothes
Let’s be honest – we all have clothes in our closet that we haven’t worn in years. They either don’t fit us anymore or they’re out of style. Look, I get it. You may be holding on to some of the clothes that don’t fit because you’re hoping to get back down to that size, or your leave them there because you might gain weight again. I do the same thing, but we need to stop! It’s only taking up space in our closets. If you haven’t worn the clothing in the past 6 months (and it’s not a seasonal item), chances are you’re not going to ever wear them again, so throw them out and free yourself and your closet.

8. Old Greeting Cards
If you’re sentimental like me you probably have tons of different greeting cards laying around your home. Birthday cards, get well cards, Christmas cards, etc. If the cards really mean something to you and have a special note from someone that means a lot to you, of course you can keep them. But trash all the others that don’t have any kind of meaning. You’ll only keep them in a box and look at them every few years, so if you can’t remember who it’s from or why you’re keeping it, then toss it.

9. Games With Missing Pieces
I bet you’ve got at least one board game that has missing pieces in your storage closet right now. What good are those games without all their pieces? You can’t play a game when there’s a missing piece, so what’s the point in keeping them? I know you’ve been waiting to find the missing pieces and are hopeful that they’ll turn up, but chances are they won’t. They have joined all your child’s toys in the never ending galaxy of lost toys. Just accept it and throw it away. You can always buy new board games.

10. Dried Up Nail Polish
I’ll admit, I am so guilty of keeping old nail polish that’s dried up and no good anymore. I always think I’ll figure out a way to fix them. I’ve had old nail polishes sitting around my house for years, and I still have not done anything with them and probably never will. Let’s just all do ourselves a favor and throw them away! It’ll free up a lot of storage room in our bathrooms and heaven knows we can all use a little more of that!
