7. Lotion Up
Unfortunately, stretch marks are very common during pregnancy. Sometimes these stretch marks are just unavoidable, but there are some ways to help make them less likely. Start using lotion on your belly right away. There are special pregnancy lotions to help with skin elasticity that will help reduce the likelihood of getting stretch marks. Apply it as often as you can from the moment you find out your pregnant to the moment you give birth to help reduce the chance of getting them.
8. Start Researching Baby Products
Baby products can be particularly confusing and overwhelming so researching them early will ensure you have plenty of time to decide what you want for your little one. You may think you have plenty of time to do this, but speaking as someone who has been pregnant before, you’re pregnancy goes by faster than you think and life gets in the way. Be prepared as much as you can as early as you can. You just never know what will happen.
9. Make A To-Do List
Start making a to-do list of everything that needs to be done before the baby comes. There is A LOT to do and to buy before a baby comes and writing it all down in one place where you can check it off as you do it will help keep you less stressed and more organized.
10. Start A Journal
It will be fun years from now for you to look back on a journal of the first day you felt your baby move or the feelings you felt they moment you heard the baby’s heartbeat for the first time. Keeping a written journal of all the things that happen during your pregnancy is also great for future pregnancies. You’ll be able to look back and know when to expect certain things because let’s be honest with mom brains we’ll never be able to remember things like that.
