There are tons and ton of resources out there for what to pack in your hospital bag. I know this because I looked at what felt like a hundred of them when I was waiting for my daughter to make her debut. Now that I’m a “pro” at having a baby, I can tell you that most of the check lists are filled with stuff you won’t even look at, much less need. Now, I’m not an expert, but I did spend a few days laid up in the mother baby unit of my hospital and about 17 hours in labor- all time my hospital bag went mostly untouched. If you have a baby coming, then you are probably deciding what to take with you. Well, look no further! Check out our list of simple must-haves for your hospital bag. Is this the definitive list on what everyone on earth should pack? Nope, but it is a tried and true list that doesn’t involve a thousand items you’ll never end up using!
1. Camera
If you have a nice camera, or even a mediocre one, BRING IT. The camera on your phone will not do the sweet moments of your child’s first breath justice. I swore up and down that only my husband and I would be in the delivery room when my daughter was born, but in the last few minutes decided to let my best girlfriend stay to catch the action. I have never been so glad I made that decision, as she was our sole photographer in the seconds after my daughter was born. She used my nice camera and I will forever have gorgeous shots (not so much of me) of my beautiful baby.
