10. Can My Other Children Visit?
When it comes to the maternity ward, many hospitals have very strict policies on who can and cannot visit. My hospital would not allow any children in the maternity ward, which I did not know beforehand until one of my best friends came to visit with her children. She ended up having to come back at a different time without her kids. If you have other children, this is certainly something you’ll want to know before going to the hospital. They may not allow children, but may make exceptions for siblings, so just be sure to ask.

11. Are Breast Pumps Available?
If you plan on breastfeeding, chances are you’ll need a breast pump. Many hospitals offer breast pumps that you can rent while you’re staying in the hospital either for free or for extra charge. Whether you want to use your own, or you don’t have one, you will want to ask if this is something they offer. My birth was completely unexpected, so I never had my breast pump with me when I went to the hospital. I actually didn’t even know I would need a breast pump, so I was fortunate to have a hospital that had a great rental program.
12. What Will Happen If I Need A C-Section?
You never know what’s going to happen when you’re about to deliver a baby and that means that a c-section is always a possibility. This is exactly what happened to me and since I never bothered to ask about how a c-section goes and what the procedure is I was so incredibly scared. I had no idea what to expect and that was more nerve racking to me than actually having a newborn baby. So you can be informed and a little more at peace if something like this happens to you, ask your hospital what will happen if a c-section is in your future.
