10. Write A Short Story Together
Get out those pens and pencils and write a short story together. Be as creative as possible and make sure to illustrate the story as well. You’ll both love using your imagination as you write your story and it’ll be nice to get your creative juices flowing.
11. Play Video Games
Many kids love video games. Instead of getting on their case about putting the video games away and picking up their room, sit down and play video games with them. They will think you’re the coolest parent ever for not only letting them play, but playing yourself as well! If you don’t know how to play, let them teach you!
12. Get Creative With Cardboard Boxes
On the days when you have a large cardboard box come in the mail, save it and get creative with your kid. Pull out the scissors, markers, and glue and see what you can make. You’d be surprised by all the things you can make out of just a cardboard box. Your kids will love being able to make something fun and you’ll love sharing in the excitement when it’s finally finished.
