4. Microwave Popcorn
Microwave popcorn has been an American tradition for many years. There’s nothing like popping a bag in the privacy of your own home and sitting down to a great movie. But just like how we’ve learned much about how our bodies process foods in recent years, we also know much more about the effects of the microwave and popcorn bags. A recent study from UCLA has determined that chemicals found in popcorn bags have been linked to infertility in humans, and testicular, pancreatic and liver cancer in animal testing. Apparently, the microwave causes these chemical to break down from the bag and then infiltrate your popcorn. You then consume your popcorn, where the chemicals build up in your body for years to come. Do yourself a favor and buy an air popper and whole kernels. You will feel much safer!
