4. Magazine
Your kids will love looking like the star feature of a magazine with this design. Just take a great photo and then overlay “article ideas” over the top, such as what they want to be when they grow up, their teacher and what their interests are that year. You can use PhotoShop or even a simple app on your phone.

5. First Day Of School T-Shirt
This is a great idea to do one of two ways: use a “first day of school” t-shirt or get on large t-shirt that says “class of 20xx” to show what year your child will complete high school. If you go for the latter option, use that shirt and take a photo of your child wearing it on the first day of school every year until they graduate.

6. Frame
Make your own frame that spells out that it’s the first day of “x” and have your child hold it around their head for their own framed photograph. It’s a simple way to document their first day of school. You can save the frame and change it to “last” day of school and use it to do a side by side comparison when the school year is over!
