7. Take A Walk
Sometimes the most perfect family date can be simply taking a walk together. There’s something about getting outside, walking around, smelling the fresh air and exploring together that is so refreshing. Let your child decide where to go and actually let them walk if you can. Although your walk may take longer than if they were in their stroller, they’ll be able to explore and learn more as they touch, run and play during your walk. It also gives you all more of an opportunity to interact with each other.

8. Go On A Scavenger Hunt
When I was a kid, going on scavenger hunts was one of my very favorite activities. Kids love searching for things, so they’ll thoroughly enjoy a scavenger hunt. You could make up your own list to work on together, or you could split up in teams and challenge each other by making lists for the other team. When you’re all done, gather together to see the treasures you’ve found and see who got the most/best stuff.

9. Head To A Farmers Market
Most cities hold either weekly or monthly farmers markets that are free to attend. It’s a great way to get out of the house, get some fresh produce, yummy food, and see street performers. We take our son to a farmers market at least once a month and he loves exploring the different booths and seeing the different performers along the street that are playing music, blowing bubbles, or doing a fun demonstration. It really is fun for the whole family.
