7. Relaxing, Peaceful Meals
Gone are the days when you used to be able to go out to dinner with your spouse and enjoy a peaceful, relaxing dinner. Now, if you have any meal with the kids, whether at home or out, it’s no longer relaxing. You’re fighting with your child to eat their food, your cleaning up the drink they spilled on the table, you’re trying to give them things to entertain them…I could go on and on. I now cherish any meal I get to eat when my son is not around and I actually can enjoy my food for once.

8. Shopping
Oh how I miss the days of shopping with out a child. It was so much fun, so relaxing, and so therapeutic. Now, going shopping is like participating in a marathon. It’s definitely not easy. Whether it’s grocery shopping, or clothes shopping, it’s all hectic, crazy, and incredibly frustrating. Children, of course, do not appreciate wandering around the beautiful isles of Target, Nordstrom, or Home Goods, which makes it really difficult for us moms to appreciate it when they’re with us.

9. Date Nights
When you do finally have the opportunity to leave the kiddos for a night and have a date night with your spouse, you think it’s going to be an absolutely amazing night, right? Well, not always. When you’re trying to enjoy your night out chances are you’re constantly thinking of your kids back home worrying whether they’re safe, if the babysitter is doing a good job, or if they’re behaving. If you’re not thinking of those things, you’ll most likely get a call from the babysitter asking questions, or letting you know that something is going on.
