Ever look around your home feeling frustrated and discouraged because there are so many things you want to change about it, but can’t afford to do? We all have those spots in our home that we hate because they are an ugly eye sore or because they need a little updating and improvement. Of course, we would all love to have that model home look in our own house, but achieving that can be extremely expensive. However, thanks to Pinterest, there are some amazing and easy DIY projects we’ve found that you can do in a weekend or less that will take your home from looking like an average, simple home to a beautiful, magazine worthy home. So, go ahead and try your hand at any one of these 10 easy updates and see if you can take your home from drab to fab.
1. Paint Ugly Vinyl Floors
It’s unfortunate that there are so many vinyl floors in homes and apartments now a days. We all know they are ugly, but they’re inexpensive, which makes them a great option for builders and landlords, but not so great for us. If you’ve got some vinyl floors in your home that you absolutely hate, but don’t have the money to rip them up and replace them with something more sophisticated looking, try painting them! Yes, you heard me – paint the vinyl floors! It’s an easy, stunning upgrade that won’t cost you a fortune and can be done in a weekend. Even better!

2. Paint Faux Garage Windows
If the front of your home needs a little more curb appeal, try painting some faux windows on your garage door. It may sound crazy, but the finished product looks amazing. No one will ever be able to tell the windows were painted on unless they closely inspect your garage door, and let’s be honest who really gets that close to see if the windows are fake or real? This is another update that’s fairly easy to do and won’t cost you a fortune like buying a whole new garage door would.

3. Mirrored Closet Doors
Our closets are often times over looked and neglected when it comes to design, but the truth is they, too, need some sprucing up a bit. If you want to make your bedroom closet look a little more custom, buy yourself some of those inexpensive full length mirrors you can purchase at local department stores then hang them on the closet doors. They’ll look like they were custom built into the doors. Easy, inexpensive, and a beautiful result! What more could you ask for?
