Pregnancy changes everything. It affects our mood, appearance, and even cravings or food preferences. However, it also brings mixed feelings and doubt, especially when it comes to physical appearance, which is something women don’t talk about enough to prepare moms-to-be for the upcoming challenges.

There’s no doubt that during pregnancy, many women struggle with weight and body image issues. So, if you’re feeling down or simply want to do something nice for yourself, check out these natural beauty tips for future moms that will brighten your day and make you feel more comfortable in your skin.

Switch your nail polish

Traditional nail polish is safe during pregnancy. However, you might want to ditch gel polishes and manicures. Painting your nails at home might sound like a lot of work, but this option is safer for you and your baby, especially if you tend to bite your nails due to stress.

If painting your nails at home every few days doesn’t work for you, apply a clear coating on your nail plate for a subtle yet stylish look.

Embrace your natural hair texture

Pregnancy is a special time for you and your partner, so it only makes sense to do whatever possible to feel good and embrace the journey. You can do that by accepting your natural hair texture and switching to a hair care routine that will make you feel like the absolute goddess. Start reading labels when buying new products for your hair, and avoid colouring your hair during the first three months of your pregnancy.

Be gentle to your skin

When pregnant, you’ll notice that your skin is changing. It might become more dry, meaning it requires extra care. Be gentle to your skin and use all-natural skincare products that will keep it fresh and elastic. What’s more, use a mild skin cleanser and exfoliate at least once a week. It’s worth mentioning that you should avoid retinoids or salicylic acid when shopping for new products.

Find a new makeup routine

Many moms-to-be complain about gaining weight during pregnancy. Although your body’s reaction is completely normal, you may still feel insecure about the way your body looks. Of course, keep in mind that you are stunning, but if you want to add a few steps to your makeup routine, here’s what you should consider.

You can highlight your cheeks and use a darker foundation shade for contouring. That way, your face will appear slimmer. What’s more, use a lighter lipstick to appear more natural, and wake up your eyes with a black liner and mascara. Finally, complete the look by adding a few drops of your favourite liquid blush and use a setting spray to keep everything intact.

Follow new trends

As a pregnant woman, now is the best time to try out some beauty trends. If the pregnancy is making your brows thinner, you might want to consider brow lamination. Brow lamination is a process that fills the gaps in your eyebrows, transforming them into a perfect shape.

It’s a well-known trend many beauty gurus love, and we’re sure you’d love it too! First, however, it’s advisable to find a reliable professional who can laminate your eyebrows and help you achieve the perfect look.

Apply sunscreen daily

Sun exposure can create dark marks on your skin, which is why it’s advisable to minimise sun exposure if possible. On top of that, if you need to go out during the day, be sure to apply a generous amount of sunscreen to your skin. Still, dark spots are most likely to disappear after the pregnancy, so even if you notice some patches on your skin, keep in mind that they’re temporary.

Conclusion

Although these beauty tips will boost your confidence and make you feel more beautiful, you should know there are many aspects of your pregnancy that are more important than your looks! Accept that your body is currency adapting to changes, and don’t deny food just to feel thinner. After you deliver the baby, you’ll have plenty of time to get back in shape and take care of minor imperfections. Therefore, enjoy this time of your life, and both you and the baby will be happy.
