Throughout history girls and women have always been put under certain expectations and because of this have been limited in what they can do. Of course there have been improvements for women’s rights like being able to vote, being able to take office, and having more responsibility in the workplace. Unfortunately, we still put women and girls down by limiting them by the things we say while they are growing up. I’m sure when you were a kid you were told you couldn’t do something because you were a girl. I don’t think we really realize how often girls are told this.
Always, the feminine product brand, did a survey to test how this effects girls as they are growing up. It’s sad to see this as a reality, but wonderful to see the strength that young women have to overcome these limitations. The girls in this video are incredible and are such an inspiration to women of all ages all over the world.
I hope we can all stop limiting children by the things we tell them. Just because you’re a girl, boy, white, black, religious, or not doesn’t mean you can’t do something. We are all human beings and should all be treated equally.
