10. Interesting Chandeliers
Joanna certainly loves to use statement pieces in each room that give it a bold look. One of the things you see her use a lot are interesting chandeliers. They’re usually big, chunky, and have all kinds of curves and angles. If you have a boring lighting fixture over your kitchen table, replace it with an old chandelier from your local thrift store. The older and more different it looks, the better.
11. Repurpose Old Items
One of the things I love that Joanna does often is repurpose old items that people may usually think to throw away. She always sees a new use for almost everything. I’ve seen her turn wash boards into magnetic display boards, old wooden crates as storage boxes, or an old milk crate as a flower vase. Before you throw something away, ask yourself if you could re-use it as something else. Head out to local thrift stores and garage sales to look for interesting items that can be used as fun decorative accessories in your home.
