If you google “getting into a routine” you’ll likely be faced with dozens of articles on getting your new baby on a sleep schedule. And while that information is super helpful, what about getting back into your own routine as a mom? We need routines too! Everything changes after having a baby, except that eventually you’ll need to get back to a job, cooking dinner and yes, even taking a shower. It may seem impossible with that new baby attached to you, but it’s very doable to get yourself back into a routine and back to life. Check out our helpful tips on getting into a routine that works for you!

1. Recognize the Importance of Having a Routine

This is the probably the most important aspect of developing a routine, because you have to believe in the power of having one! If you don’t think you need one, then get ready to live in chaos for the next 18+ years. Having a routine doesn’t mean you’re a slave to the clock nor the routine itself. It just means you are committed to getting things done. Kids actually love routines too. They feel safe when they know what to expect and thrive when they have consistency. Are you a believer now?
