2. Trade It In

If your child is old enough to understand, tell them you are going to take them to the toy store and that they can trade their binky in for any toy of their choice.  The excitement from having a new toy will over shadow the fact that they gave away their binky.  Even if they do miss the pacifier just explain that since they have their new toy that the pacifier is all gone and it’s so much more fun to have a toy than a pacifier.
