7. Bath Toys
I used to think those bath squirt toys were so cute. But then I saw the inside of one after months of use in the tub and I was disgusted because it was filled with mold! All types of toys get dirty in the tub from constant exposure to water, improper drying, dirt from your kids and much more. If you must have your squirty toys, dab some hot glue over the hole so no water can get inside. It’s also a good idea to regularly clean all the toys in equal parts hot water and white vinegar with some dish soap dropped in to rid germs and soap scum.
8. Carpet
I personally love carpet, but mostly because I like how it doesn’t show every speck of dirt or crumb. But that’s exactly why carpet is such a dirty part of your home! Some of just the basic things that live in your carpet: skin cells, hair, pet dander, food and oh, bacteria! It’s a good idea to have a deep steam clean every year and a half, or get rid of carpet all together if you have allergies.
9. Pillows
Your pillow is the stuff dreams are made of, but it’s also home to drool, dead skin, hair and sweat. Its been discovered that certain types of fungi can also make their home in your beloved pillow, so it’s recommended to regularly wash your pillows and covers. Additionally, you can get special anti-allergen covers which will help prevent the intrusion of said fungi into your pillows.
