4. Apple Cider Vinegar
If you ever look anything up about heartburn almost everywhere you’ll see apple cider vinegar as one of the fail proof ways to treat and prevent heartburn. People swear by this stuff! Some say to just straight up drink a few ounces by itself, where others suggest mixing a few teaspoons or tablespoons with water to dilute it. You can even add honey to the mixture if it’s too bitter for your taste. I don’t think the amount of apple cider vinegar really matters, just as long as you get a little bit in our body to start working it’s magic at the first sign of heartburn. Your heartburn should be gone within a few minutes!
5. Elevate Your Upper Body Elevated While Sleeping
Keeping your upper body elevated while sleeping can help keep heartburn at bay. A lot of times this is when heartburn strikes for me because you lay down and all the acid starts coming up your digestive tract instead of staying down. By keeping your upper body elevated with pillows or risers will help keep your food and the acidity in it down and therefore reduce the likelihood that you’ll get heartburn.
6. Stop Eating A Few Hours Before Bed
Since I just mentioned that laying down can cause the acid in your stomach to start coming up your digestive tract and cause heartburn, it’s best to leave food alone a few hours before going to bed. Easier said than done when pregnant right? However, doing this will give your stomach plenty of time to digest your food before laying down and increasing the likelihood of heartburn.
