10. Avoid Heartburn Causing Foods
Okay, I know this seems obvious, but a lot of times you don’t know what will cause you to have heartburn. Foods that you’ve eaten all your life will all of the sudden give you the worst heartburn of your life when you’re pregnant. Start a food diary and take note of what you ate that gave you heartburn, then avoid those foods in the future. The worst part is that most of the time its the foods that we really love and really crave that give us pregnant women the worst heartburn!
11. Wear Loose, Comfortable Clothing
I know that this, too, seems fairly obvious, but I have to admit I hadn’t really thought about this actually making me uncomfortable and causing heartburn. If your clothes are too tight and restrictive around your stomach it puts pressure on your body and upsets the digestive tract. So, just be sure to keep your clothes nice and comfortable when pregnant and never too tight.
12. Antacids
One of the greatest ways to relieve heartburn is with antacids! You do have to be careful with these, though, and be sure not to take over the recommended dose. Usually when I chew two of these tablets at the first sign of my heartburn it goes away within a few minutes.
