#2 – Using A Seat That Has Been Recalled
Over the past decade, many car-seat manufacturers have issued recalls on their car-seats, booster seats, and infant carriers. If you are unsure of whether or not your model seat has been recalled, you can easily check it on the Safer Car website. It is imperative that if your seat has been recalled, that you contact the manufacturer straight away to figure out a solution to the problem. In the same respect, car seats do have expiration dates on them. As new and improved safety developments are implemented over the years, some older model car-seats do not have these, and thus should be retired for a newer and safer model. Try to stay away from used car seats of which you do not know the history. Has it been in an accident? How old is it? Your better off purchasing a new car-seat versus a used one.
