4. Positive Reinforcement
Sometimes, as parents, we forget to acknowledge our children’s good behavior and only focus on their bad behavior. If your child asks for something nicely, or if they calm down after whining and ask differently, praise them for their good behavior. Let them know how proud you are of their attitude and their actions and reward them with whatever they are wanting along with some hugs and kisses. Children learn quickly that it feels better to have their mom or dad hugging them and praising them, than it does to have them yelling at them.
