Shopping with kids can be one of the most stressful things we do as parents. Usually it includes crying, whining, yelling, begging, spilling, pulling things off shelves, etc, and can make us want to pull our hair out. However, there are some great tips that we can use as parents to help make shopping a little easier on us.
1. Let Them Play With Something From The Store
This may or may not work depending on the age of your child. Right now my son is almost 2 and it works great for him. Whenever we go into a store I head over to the toy area and find a little toy or book that he can look at while we shop. Usually he will play with it for a while and by the time we are ready to go he has forgotten about it and has moved onto wanting something else or just doesn’t care about it that much anymore. That gives me the opportunity to put the toy back before we leave. Be careful what you pick out, though. Never give them something that is their favorite character, or anything like that. If you do, they will not let go of it and will want to take it home. Also, don’t let them play with anything that they can break or damage, because then you will have to buy it.
