2. White Vinegar
Even though it’s stinky (not unlike your children, actually), white vinegar should be the newest member of your cleaning family if it isn’t already. The properties in vinegar make it an excellent product to remove soap buildup in appliances like your dishwasher, washing machine, coffee pot, or home diffusers. Mixing equal parts water and vinegar will help flush out those nasty odors, buildup, and stains. For appliances like your dishwasher, dump a cup of vinegar in the basin of your machine and run like usual (you can leave your dishes inside- there will be no odor!). You can even keep a spray bottle of vinegar and sliced lemons (if you just can’t stand the smell) for easy access in your kitchen or laundry room.
Another Bonus! Did you know that dumping a half cup of white vinegar into your laundry loads of darks can help retain their color? No more mysterious bleach stains on your towels anymore!
