5. Redecorate
Have you ever found yourself dying for a nap and not being able to fall asleep? Chances are its because your body knows its not night time because of the daytime light. Your toddler could be experiencing the same thing. Now may be a good time to get some blackout curtains and flip on a fan. Anything you can do to mitigate how “interesting” it maybe outside their room will reduce the fighting at nap time. And bonus! It will also keep them asleep longer in the morning! No more 4am wake ups!
And just a happy update: as I was writing this post, my daughter and I were on day 4 of the great nap standoff. I am happy to report that after burying the monitor and refusing to listen, mama has won! Nap time victory!
