When you first start letting your child walk in public, start out slow. Letting them walk at the mall or a crowded place is probably not the best idea. They will be overwhelmed and won’t even think about listening to you. Start out on your residential street or a park. Practice giving them directions about staying close by. They will be better able to focus and remember the rules when they move up to bigger and louder placed.
