3. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I’m totally not ashamed to admit I love Young Adult and Juvenile fiction. In recent years, authors have really upped their game for our young people and I think they have single handedly changed our kids perception of reading. It doesn’t have to be boring and is actually quite exciting to read. Anyways, if you have seen the Hunger Games film but not read the book, you’re missing out. You will follow Katniss Everdeen as she volunteers to fight in the Hunger Games, an annual fight to the death match with 23 other “tributes” who are all teenagers. While it may sound like a barbaric topic, the book is a post-apocalyptic look into a future that could actually happen. A fabulous read!
