7. Ask For Help
Being pregnant can sometimes be very hard, especially when you’re still working, or you have other children, not to mention the house you have to clean and all the cooking and laundry you have to do. If you’re uncomfortable already, then doing all these things in the heat is going to make you even more miserable. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Chances are your friends and family won’t mind helping out the overheating pregnant lady. Have your husband help you clean the house and do the dishes, or have your mom take your other kids for you for a few hours so you can take a long, cold shower and relax for a bit.
8. Sleep Comfortably
Sleeping when you’re pregnant can be difficult as is, and when you throw heat in the mixture, it’s definitely unbearable. Try to make yourself as comfortable as you can when sleeping this summer. Point a fan directly on you next to your bed, sleep in very light pajamas or in your underwear if you have to. For extra comfort you can treat yourself to a pregnancy pillow so you’ll be comfortable in any position. Do whatever you have to to make yourself comfortable as you sleep this summer so you’ll be rested throughout the day.
9. Be Smart When Outside
Chances are you’ll have to be outside this summer for either a party or a play date with friends. If you have to be outside in situations like this, keep yourself cool by sitting in the shade, using a portable fan, wearing a hat and keeping cold drinks continuously by your side. Also be sure to apply plenty of sunscreen to avoid getting sunburned. The last thing you want when you’re nine months pregnant and already uncomfortable is to be sunburned on top of all that.
