1. Wear Comfortable Clothes
The number one key to surviving pregnancy during summer is making sure you are wearing comfortable clothes and shoes. Obviously summer is hot, so wear as little clothing as possible while still being appropriate. Also, don’t wear anything too tight and constricting. Instead of pants or uncomfortable shorts, opt for skirts and dresses that will stretch and flow. It will allow air to flow more freely around your body.
2. Search For AC
If your house has AC, then use it as much as you can. If you don’t have AC or can’t run yours in your own home, head somewhere with AC whether it be your mom’s home, a friend’s home or the mall. I personally do not have AC in my home, and whenever it gets incredibly uncomfortable I head out of the house and find some AC. You can even relax in a Starbucks or if you have other children with you many malls have indoor playgrounds where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the AC.
3. Eat Cold Treats
A great way to cool down when you’re hot and pregnant is to eat some cold treats like popsicles, ice cream, and ice cold drinks. Now, since you want to be as healthy as you can while pregnant, opt for healthy frozen treats like homemade healthy ice cream and popsicles. You can find plenty of recipes on Pinterest. Cool off with ice cold water or lemonade. All these cold treats will be refreshing and will help you manage the summer heat.
