As moms we are constantly looking for the newest and safest products for our families. We want our homes clean, but want those nasty poisons far, far away! Luckily for us, some of the most trusted products have been around for many years. Read on to see some of the products you’ll want to get your hands on!
1. Baking Soda
It’s not just for baking! In fact, baking soda has far more uses outside of the kitchen. Open a box and set it inside your fridge door or pour a few tablespoons down your stinky kitchen drain to absorb that conglomerate of odors you’ve been fighting with! Take a small amount of soda, and mix with a few drops of water to make a paste. Now you can rub the paste on anything that’s stained (think: that coffee pot that’s ringed with old coffee) to remove them in a flash. Baking soda is also great for softening water. You can dump a few tablespoons into your tea pot, along with water and set to boil. After boiling, rinse out and use a sponge or wet paper towel to easily wipe off those hard water deposits off your pot.
Bonus! Did you know that you can use baking soda paste (see above) on a “hot spot” on a wooden table? You know the ones that you accidentally made by putting a hot pizza box directly on the kitchen table, and now a lovely white spot remains? Smear some paste on a fresh hot spot and let it sit. After 20 minutes, begin removing the paste, and your hot spot will be gone too!
