10. Emotionally, Maybe One Child Is All You Can Handle
I once heard a friend say that if she’d had her 2nd daughter first, she never would have had more children. Some kids are just tough to handle. We’ve all heard the saying that “God never gives you anything that you can’t handle,” but we also have to know our own limits. On the flip side, some us are have it pretty good with our kids. We may not want to take the gamble on another when we love our lives exactly the way they are. There’s nothing wrong with admitting that they don’t want more children because they love their child and only want to love that child.

11. It’s No One Else’s Business
You can come up with all the witty comments in the world or have a list 2 feet long of reasons why you chose to only have 1 child. But the fact of the matter is, its nobody’s business but yours! When people start harping on your decision to have just one child, they are probably projecting their own values on to you. Not everyone is cut out for multiple children, just like not everyone is cut out just to have one child, or any children at all. There’s nothing wrong about it, it’s just different and that’s ok. Don’t be afraid to just tell people, “we’re one and done!”
