7. Tea Is A Drink Staple In Your House
When it comes to tea, sweet is the most popular kind in the south. (And no, it’s not the same as iced tea.) But really, tea in general is something found in almost every refrigerator. Fruit tea, sweet tea, unsweetened tea, you name it, a southern mama serves it to her kids. It’s great for sipping on the front porch on a hot summer day.
8. Your Daughter Wears Over Sized Hair Bows
From the time they are babies, southern girls are adorned by their mamas with over sized hair bows. I remember thinking (before I had my own children) that those big bows looked ridiculous on little girls, but now mine wears them on occasion too. Little southern belles are just precious, and hair bows only add to the cuteness factor.
9. Your Children Own Toy Guns
The south is pretty conservative politically. Most southerners support the 2nd amendment and many own guns. In fact, it’s not unheard of for young boys in the south to own toy guns. My son doesn’t have any that are life size, other than a water gun, but he does own several action figure toys that have small weapons included. Cops and robbers is definitely something that southern children enjoy playing.
