12 Easy Ways To Show Your Kids You’re A Great Mom

We all know that kids don’t understand a lot about life. There’s so much to learn as they grow and most of the time they will never really understand how much you really love and care for them. I don’t think anyone really knows this until they actually have a child of their own and experiences that love for themselves. Kids can easily think and conclude that you’re not a very good mom because you didn’t do this or didn’t do that, but that’s not necessarily true. Life is busy and gets in the way, but we must put our children and our families first. Sometimes we need just as much convincing as our children, that we are in fact great mothers. If you’re having one of “those days” then check out our list of ways you’re doing a great job as a mom.

1. Talk To Them

A big part of parenting is talking to your kids. Talking to them doesn’t mean it has to be all about discipline or serious things. You can talk to your children about fun things, like how much you love them, what you enjoyed doing with them that day, what they do that makes you happy or sad, etc. It’s a good thing to not only have a fun relationship with your child, but a meaningful relationship with them as well and talking to them about anything and everything will create that.

2. Listen To Them

One of the biggest parts of talking to your child is listening. In order to have a two way relationship with someone, when you talk to them, you have to be there to listen as well. When you and your child talk, be sure to listen to them and let them know that they are listening to them. Reciprocate back so they know that you are listening by saying things such as, how did that make you feel, I understand how you feel, does that make you happy, etc.

3. Attend Their Special Event

A great way to support your child and show them that you love them is to attend their special event. Chances are they’ll have some sort of recital, game, tournament, etc. if they are involved in sports or music. Knowing that they have their parent cheering them on from the front row or the sidelines will make them feel loved. They will know and feel how much you support them.
