13. You Make Me Happy
Sometimes it may seem that our kids cause us more frustration than happiness. Although that’s maybe true every once in a while, for the most part, our children really do make us so incredibly happy. Express that to your child, especially on a hard day when maybe you’ve raised your voice at them to pick up their toys or clean their room. Don’t let them think that they are a nuisance to you, but a joy and that they make you happy.
14. That Was So Kind
As our children grow and experience life they will start to exhibit all different types of behavior. Sometimes it can be really good behavior, and sometimes it can be really bad. It’s important to focus more on the good that our children do and focus less on the bad. Tell your children how great their kind acts are and acknowledge each time they do something nice like putting away the dishes, helping out their younger sibling, making their sister’s bed, etc. They need to know that kind acts are good and they should be rewarded for those things even if it’s just with words.
15. I Love You
Last but not least, make sure you tell your child often how much you love them. These may be words that can be forgotten as we go about our day, but they are some of the most important words we can ever express to anyone. Everyone wants to know and feel that they are loved, our children most of all.
