3. Distract, Distract, Distract!
Sometimes your kids get themselves all worked up in a tizzy and there’s no amount of rationalization that you calm them down. You may find yourself headed towards discipline, when all you really need is a little distraction to get them off whatever tangent they are on. You can start signing a song you know they can’t resist, ask them questions, point out something while driving or even ask if they need a snack. Remember, toddlers acting out isn’t always because they are being bad. They may just be upset by the situation and need a distraction to bring them back to earth.
