5. Think Like A Toddler
This is probably the hardest one for me, because I can get easily frustrated by my toddler just being a toddler. When she grabs the entire box of Panko bread crumbs, pours them on my coffee table and begins to “paint” with them, my first response is “AHHHHHH WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?” But she’s not thinking about “how am I going to get all of these off the table and there goes a $4 box of bread crumbs!” She’s thinking, “this is so much fun and Mommy look what I made!” When you put yourself in their shoes and their age, you will probably have a little more patience necessary to correctly deal with the situation. If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll probably start to notice that your toddler is just learning the ropes of the world more often than they are actually mis-behaving.
