3. Teach Phone Etiquette
Since so many kids are given phones at a young age, we may think they are taught how to use them. Sure, they can probably navigate to their favorite app or text, but do they know how to answer your home phone (if you still have one) or make a phone call to someone else? When I was growing up, the kids in my house answered the phone “Hello, who is this please?” You may have your own tagline in your home, but the important thing is kids know how to answer politely, and “HELLO!?” is probably not the right way. Make sure kids also know how to call a friends house and speak to the parents politely, by identifying themselves and and asking to speak with their friend.
