2. Get a Job
When you were old enough in your grandparents time, you got a job. Even if it was a paper route or mowing lawns, our ancestors placed a high value on work and staying busy. Depending on where you live geographically, many places still place a lot of emphasis on getting a job. But if you live in an affluent area, it’s not uncommon to see kids getting their entire way through high school and college without ever earning their own money. Working is not just about getting paid, but also about learning to show up to work on time, being able to interact with customers, coworkers and bosses and also about having responsibility.
