4. Look Through Photos
If your child has already looked through all their story books, pull out the photo albums and let them look at photos of your wedding day, family reunions, the day they were born, vacations, etc. If you don’t have any photo albums, pull out your computer or phone and let them look through those photos. Either way, they will love pointing out mommy and daddy, grandma and grandpa, and everyone else they recognize. As they look at the photos tell them the stories about each one so it’s like their own personal story book.
5. Baths
Taking a bath can be really soothing for a sick little toddler. It’s a great way help your child feel better, while also keeping them entertained. Since they love taking baths on any given day, they won’t even know that you are helping them feel better by giving them a bath. They can relax in the warm water and play with their toys for as long as their little heart desires. It’s also an activity that they can do multiple times during the day if they need a little extra soothing. Bring out the bath paints or other toys that they don’t normally get to play with while taking a bath for an even more exciting and longer bath.
6. Sticker Books
Stickers – need I say more? There’s just something about stickers that kids love. To keep your toddler entertained while laying down, give them pages of stickers and some paper, boxes, or paper cups to put the stickers on. The more items they can put the stickers on, the better. A variety of stickers is great for keeping them interested as well, such as puffy stickers or scratch-n-sniff stickers. This will certainly help them stay put and rest for a while.
