I’ve always been a consistent patient at the dentist office, visiting twice a year for as long as I can remember. The very first time I missed a visit, I was 8 months pregnant and told myself I would reschedule right after my daughter was born. Well, “right after” became 5 months after, and almost 7 months after my missed appointment. I was horrified to learn that I had 5 (FIVE) cavities! No one ever told me that my teeth were to receive a little extra love while I was pregnant! Because of that, I emerged from pregnancy with a mouth full of holes. 1. Get Healthy Before Getting Pregnant

If you have dental work that needs to be completed, its best to accomplish it before getting pregnant, as not all procedures can be done during pregnancy. You also don’t want a potential problem to snowball and cause complications during pregnancy.
